Job Title:     Senior Speech and Language Therapist

Location:     Hillingdon Manor School, London

Salary:        up to £53,200 per annum, (DOE) plus £2000 Training Allowance

Hours:            36.5 hours per week, Mon-Fri, 8:30am-4:30pm

Contract:         Permanent

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Speech and Language Therapist to join our in-house Clinical Team, at Hillingdon Manor School based in London. Working collaboratively with the sites, you will deliver bespoke assessment and intervention plans for secondary aged Autistic pupils with associated needs such as developmental trauma, ADHD and SEMH needs. 

You will be responsible for holding the speech and language therapy caseload at Hillingdon Manor School. With the full support of our well-established and knowledgeable Clinical network and growing Clinical Team, you will also contribute to staff training. Both a challenging and rewarding role, this position would suit a resilient and enthusiastic individual, with a therapeutic approach and the ability to make decisions, as well as manage their own workload. Working within overall framework of the service policies and procedures, you will be supporting the integration of the specific service in the day to day running of each provision i.e., standardised assessments and clinical services. A key aspect of the role will be to deliver the wellbeing and clinical rainbow strategy at a universal and enhanced specialist level to support our wider teams in meeting our pupils’ needs in line with set Education, Health Plan (EHCP).

Essential Criteria:

  • Recognised Speech & Language Therapy degree
  • Valid and up to date HCPC Registration
  • Registered member of RCSLT
  • Previous experience of paid or voluntary work within an autism, trauma or complex needs setting
  • Clear and concise report writing relating to clinical and research activities
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience within the specialist client group. (complex communication issues relating to autism, including language disorder, dyspraxia, sensory impairment, learning disabilities/difficulties and associated challenging behaviour)
  • Experience of multi-professional work with teams or services within the designated speciality preferred
