The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, is an aspirational and supportive Trust, aiming to create a warm, caring, stable, supportive environment in which all staff and pupils feel safe. We are three special schools, a large countywide alternative provision and a vocational free school across East Sussex. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement. SABDEN Alternative Provision is comprised of two schools within East Sussex; The Workplace, a vocational free school based in Bexhill-on-Sea and College Central, a Pupil Referral Unit, based across two sites, Eastbourne and Hastings. 

The Workplace is a newly opened vocational free School, focussing on founding principles of rigour, enterprise, industry and partnerships. The Workplace offers high quality vocational education in industry standard settings, alongside high quality delivery of core Maths, English and Science. The school offers full-time education to students who require a curriculum beyond the mainstream offer. 

College Central provides specialised education to young people with who have been, or are at risk of exclusion from mainstream school, with average class sizes of 8-10. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement. Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure systems. 

SABDEN AP is seeking to appoint an outstanding Lead Senior Teacher of Science, with experience of delivering Science at GCSE level. You have a clear commitment to working with challenging & vulnerable pupils and have evidence of high quality outcomes and classroom management. You are an innovative thinker, who works well as part of a team. You are committed to professional development, and to setting ambitious goals and challenges for pupils and yourself.  

The Lead Teacher of Science will be primarily based at The Workplace and they will be expected to lead and collaborate with the Science/General Subjects Teachers at College Central, implementing and being responsible for the strategic leadership and delivery of Science across SABDEN AP schools. 

The successful candidate will be a strong team player and be committed to raising the standards within SABDEN AP. This is a rare opportunity to join us and be part of our expanding team, which provides an outstanding service for pupils in the Bexhill-on-Sea, Hastings and Eastbourne areas.
