The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust, based across East Sussex, is an aspirational and supportive Trust, aiming to create a warm, caring, stable, supportive environment in which all staff and pupils feel safe. We are three special schools, a secure unit, a large countywide alternative provision, a vocational free school within East Sussex. We strive to discover success through learning, self-belief and achievement.  Pupils are empowered to take responsibility through a personalised curriculum supported by secure systems.

Lansdowne School is a unique provision within the local authority run secure children’s home in collaboration with The SABDEN Multi Academy Trust and ESCC. The home has undergone a recent building expansion programme and we have a fantastic opportunity for an energetic and inspiring Senior Teacher to lead Lansdowne School in its provision of excellent Teaching and Learning.  We are seeking to appoint an experienced practitioner with a proven track record of successfully meeting the needs of pupils with complex learning and emotional needs to support our growing population to academic progress.

As the Senior Teacher, you will support the Head of Education in a combination of operational and teaching responsibilities, with a focus on driving forward the highest quality of education for all. You will contribute to the organisation, management and delivery of the curriculum, with a particular focus on the Vocational and Personalised Learning provisions.  Within this role, you will demonstrate a commitment to understanding each individual young person, ensuring the school experience motivates and engages them in learning, whilst also meeting their emotional needs.

Lansdowne Secure Children’s Home offers an opportunity to work in a holistic setting with extremely vulnerable young people. The home embraces a trauma informed approach across the care, education and health provisions. The school team is experienced, supportive and committed to delivering the highest quality learning opportunities for our learners.

If you are an effective, dynamic and passionate individual who is ready to develop this exciting new aspect of our provision with your innovation and commitment to excellent teaching then we would like to hear from you.

The successful candidate will be joining a Trust and school that continues to be ambitious in its drive to improve outcomes for our pupils. You will join a highly dedicated and professional staff team and be part of a supportive working and learning environment, where your professional development is highly valued.

We strongly encourage you to visit our school and if you would like to see us and/or have an informal discussion, prior to submitting an application, please contact Phillippa Brooks, Head of Education, via pbrooks@lansdowne.e-sussex.sch.uk..
