St Mark’s School has a Resource Base on its site for children and young people with Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD) who have an EHCP but who are unable to fully access a mainstream education. The resource base allows students with MLD to be able to access mainstream education where they receive a meaningful and personalised education while at the same time integrating within a mainstream setting.
Students are taught by specialist staff which currently consists of a qualified teacher and a full time TA who support them to learn in a non-threatening environment so that all grow into independent, confident and competent learners who contribute to the school and wider community. Students do also access mainstream lessons in the main school where it is appropriate for them to do so.
The resource base is run from Orchard Lodge, a building on the school premises which has recently been refurbished to a very high standard. It provides an excellent environment for staff and students with new equipment throughout which makes this a very exciting time to be joining the team at St. Mark’s School.
As a result of the planned expansion of the MLD Base in September 2021 the Local Governing Body is seeking an MLD Resource Base Senior Teaching Assistant, to assist provision in the MLD Base.
If appointed to this post you would be supporting students in our MLD Resource Base and working closely with our MLD Base Lead Teacher. We are seeking an excellent MLD Resource Base Senior Teaching Assistant to join our team on a permanent contract.
