The Sixth Form College, Solihull is a large, culturally diverse college specialising in A Levels and Level 3 vocational qualifications. It is part of Summit Learning Trust.
We are seeking a suitably qualified, enthusiastic Senior Technician, with a Physics specialism, to join this thriving Science department. The successful candidate will also have responsibility for coordinating technician support across out BTEC Applied Science courses.
The post holder will coordinate the use of practical resources and facilities within Physics and BTEC Applied Science to enable fullest use for teaching and learning. As a senior technician, you will also supervise the work of other technicians within the department. Additionally, you will work closely with the Senior Science Technician who leads on the organisation of technical support across Science for the College.
The post requires education to A level or equivalent in relevant science subject(s) together with GCSE Maths and English. Previous experience of laboratory work in a school or college environment is also essential.

Solihull Sixth Form College is a sixth form college for 16-19 year olds in Solihull and Birmingham. Part of the Summit Learning Trust, the college has more than 2,000 students. The large majority of courses are A levels, but vocational courses (mostly BTECs) are also available.
