About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for a Service Desk Technician to join our Service Desk Team at the EFI (Education for Industry Group). The purpose of this job is to maintain effective operation of the EFI’s service desk function, to act as the technician in handling support calls directly and lead by example to the junior members of the team. 

The post holders will monitor support calls, ensuring a prompt and effective response from receipt to closure. A core duty will be to aid the Service Desk Manager in the identification of service improvements, working proactively to mitigate predictable issues before they arise and to reduce reliance on the service.

The Service Desk Technician will be the primary point of expertise on the EFI’s technology estate and software systems and be expected to develop and maintain the detailed knowledge their operation required to meet business need. The post holder will be expected to work closely with other teams in the organisation, delivering a first-class support service.


About you

  • You will have a relevant IT qualification or equivalent professional qualification.
  • You will have demonstratable experience within an IT Service Desk environment and Service Desk role.
  • You will have previous experience in a customer facing role communicating with customers face to face, over the phone and via email and have strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • You will be an analytical thinker with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
  • You will have excellent knowledge of Microsoft systems, including Office 365, technological assets such as A/V equipment, telecoms equipment, computers and network devices and be proficient in both Active Directory and Azure administration, networks and systems.
  • You will have the ability to plan and prioritise competing demands, multitask across a range of work of different types, work well under pressure and meet deadlines. 
  • You will be a natural collaborator and team player.
  • You will have an adaptable and confident approach to meet the challenges of a fast-paced environment and be a proactive and self-motivated individual.

Salary:

From £26,550 to £29,500 per annum, subject to qualifications and experience.
