Job overview

Merton College is looking for a Visiting Lecturer in Community Interpreting Level 1,2 and 3 to design and deliver outstanding teaching to ensure that students are gaining a positive learning experience and are on track to succeed. 

You will play a key role in supporting the development of the curriculum, with employer engagement, and learner skill development central. Planning and preparing assignments and projects and delivering tutorials and assessments for students within the School, you will select appropriate assessment instruments and criteria, assess the work and progress of students and provide constructive feedback.

With energy, enthusiasm and passion for the subject and education, you will have a successful track record of tutoring and supporting adult learners in Community Interpreting Courses

You will have successful teaching experience and/or a teaching qualification or substantial relevant professional teaching experience. You will be familiar with and have delivered Ascentis and OCNLR Awarding Body standards and quality assurance (IQA).

We’d like you to be hardworking and flexible, have high personal standards and expectations and be receptive to new ideas and initiatives with a creative approach to problem solving. You’ll also have good planning, preparation, organisational and administrative skills and an awareness of academic quality standards.

We can be flexible on how we provide the Community Interpreting Courses eg Daytime, Evenings and Saturday mornings.
