The service has 24 inpatient placements linked to our Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient service and provides an education programme for 12-18 year olds experiencing mental health issues as part of a therapeutic timetable.

The Knole Development Centre would like to appoint an outstanding qualified teacher (or NQT) of Maths who can inspire and motivate students, effectively personalise learning and contribute to a consistent, positive environment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching on a small group basis, designing and implementing a learning programme for each student, establishing coherent academic plans, recording achievement and liaising with other teachers to plan and organise teaching. Providing evidence of student progress is an important element of the role.  Additional duties include attending multidisciplinary meetings and progress report writing.

For the right individual, we can offer some flexibility on term-time (38 weeks pa) or full-time (52 weeks pa with 5 weeks paid holiday).

About Cygnet Hospital Godden Green

Cygnet Hospital Godden Green operates an integrated Tier 4 Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) with a DfE registered school, the Knole Development Centre. Our specialist pathway offers an open acute admissions service (Knole Ward), and a pre-discharge wing (Littleoaks) to allow for a smooth transition for patients returning home to their families. The hospital also operates a low secure service for men which is run in a joint working arrangement with Kent and Medway Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

The hospital is situated in the beautiful countryside of the Kent Weald, near Sevenoaks. Its location, in over an acre of its own grounds, helps the hospital provide a calm and therapeutic environment.

Our multi-disciplinary teams are led by a consultant psychiatrist and include psychologists, social workers, occupational therapists and specialist mental health nurses, all of whom are fully trained and accredited. We incorporate many proven models of treatment, as well as services aimed at helping individuals cope with particular circumstances, such as relationship and family therapy.

The Knole Development Centre is located in the beautiful rural setting of Cygnet Hospital Godden Green in the Kent Weald. We provide a therapeutic education programme for 12-18 year olds to bridge the difficulties between education, health and wellbeing. Our service has 24 inpatient placements linked to our Tier 4 CAMHS inpatient service.

Lessons are taught in one of three classrooms. A large computer suite, an Arts and Crafts room, or a low stimulus room with computer access. We also provide Chromebooks and electronic musical equipment including a keyboard and electronic drums. Students have access to a gym, and an outdoor break area in our landscaped grounds.
