Job overview

We are looking to appoint a Sharepoint Support Analyst to join our Central IT Team. The purpose of your role will be:

  • To provide 2nd line support and administration of SharePoint sites for end users and 1st line support staff via helpdesk system, escalating where necessary
  • To work closely with 1st and 2nd line support staff to ensure they can support users appropriately
  • To work closely with the Infrastructure M365 Manager in the promotion and appropriate use of SharePoint and O365 apps
  • To support the Infrastructure M365 Manager in SharePoint project works and migrations

This role is offered on an 18-month fixed-term contract.

Our central team comprises of a dedicated, driven group of departments working centrally to provide support across the Federation and all of our academies. Across a multitude of key departments, we maintain an outstanding body of staff all integral to supporting central and academy finance, HR, Data, Estates management, Talent and many more.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Your responsibilities will include:

  • To provide 2nd line support in conjunction with the overall ICT Team to ensure the continued efficient use of SharePoint Online and O365 Services
  • To administer and maintain SharePoint Online and cloud-based apps
  • To configure solutions for business needs utilising Power Platform and other cloud-based apps
  • Ensuring that all BAU changes to SharePoint platform and infrastructure are addressed, planned and implemented in adherence to company governance and control procedures
  • To work closely with the compliance team and Infrastructure M365 Manager to ensure GDPR and data security is always maintained
  • To promote the use of the SharePoint Online and O365 Services to support teaching and learning activities across the Academies
  • To appropriately log all incidents and requests on the helpdesk system
  • To resolve incidents and requests within the target resolution time and document these within the system
  • To escalate any incidents to the appropriate team as necessary
  • To ensure sufficient and appropriate documentation is created and maintained to support the continued use of SharePoint Online and O365 Services


Qualifications & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

  • A minimum of one year's experience of carrying out a similar client facing support/analyst role
  • A minimum of two years' experience with SharePoint Online & O365 Services
  • Experience of administrating an O365 tenant
  • An understanding of the M365/O365 platform and the concept of SaaS services
  • Attention to detail and excellent report and documentation writing skills
  • Flexibility and self-motivation with a willingness to learn new technologies and processes
  • The ability to troubleshoot, investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to develop an effective working relationship with personnel from other backgrounds
  • Confidence in dealing with all levels of stakeholders
  • Understanding of different business functions and how they operate within an organisation
  • Ability to react quickly and effectively to issues and opportunities
  • Ability to troubleshoot, investigate and resolve technical issues
  • A proven track record in working to strict timescales and of working with staff at all levels
