Dixons McMillan rated outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in June 2017

“A strong culture of care for scholars permeates the school”

“Scholars are thoughtful and kind to each other”

“All staff said that they feel proud to be a member of the school, and staff morale is extremely high”

“There is a calm and safe atmosphere throughout the school”

Dixons McMillan opened in September 2014 with just one Year 7 cohort. In September 2016 we moved into our new building and we will be at full capacity when we return in August 2018. The school is already heavily oversubscribed and we have strong support from our parents.

At Dixons we have very high expectations of staff, but we value them highly. We invest heavily in staff development and as a growing school, we will offer many career opportunities in the coming years.

We require a practical, flexible and well-motivated individual to take on the role of Site and Cleaning Supervisor at Dixons McMillan Academy on Trinity Road. You will be hardworking, reliable, well-organised and able to use your own initiative. You will also have excellent practical/DIY skills, as well as an awareness of health and safety considerations. You will be part of a team of three reporting to the Site Manager and will be required to work on a rotational basis. Experience in a similar role would be beneficial and someone with a trade background would be preferred. Familiarity of using mechanical cleaning equipment and power tools is desirable, as is knowledge of health and safety in the workplace.

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake a DBS enhanced check.

More information about the post and a downloadable application form can be found on our website: http://www.dixonsma.com/index.php/vacancies. We would ask that all applicants arrange a visit prior to applying.

Please contact Mrs Heather Brons, HR Manager or Mr James Greenwood, Operations and Business Manager on 01274 424350.

Closing date for applications: Friday 27th July  2018

Interviews / selection: Week beginning 30th July 2018

A note from the Principal

As the Principal of Dixons McMillan Academy, my vision is that our school is a place where everyone feels welcome, and everyone succeeds. All of our students should receive opportunities that equip them to contribute positively to their community and the wider world, and our mission is to provide a stellar educational experience that promotes cultural capital and enrichment experiences – but at the same time, is underpinned with academic rigour and excellence. To achieve our goals, we uphold our three core values of resilience, integrity and courtesy and use our drivers of mastery, autonomy and purpose to propel us forwards.

At Dixons McMillan, staff and students live by our three core values every day. By resilience we mean that we work really, really hard and we never give up. We have a can-do attitude, and when we find things difficult we work together (as a team) to find a solution. When we refer to integrity, we mean that we are good people. We do the right thing, because it’s the right thing to do. We make decisions for the good of everyone. We are honest and have strong moral principles. And finally, when we talk about courtesy, we pride ourselves in welcoming anyone warmly to our school community – be it a visitor, a new student, or a staff member. We always have good manners and we are kind, thoughtful and polite.

Through demonstrating these three core values consistently, we ensure that students can learn and staff can teach – and ultimately, our focus on success is relentless.
