Job overview

Apprenticeship role to learn about estates and site management

A new field-based role has arisen for an organised, practical and dedicated person interested in helping in variety of school environments in Croydon and Wallington, including established sites, but with the advantage of involvement in the exciting transition period at Coombe Wood School, near Lloyd Park, South Croydon.

At this stage their ‘grounds’ will be small, but the career prospects are very good as the school grows rapidly and moves to the planned, adjacent permanent building towards the end of 2020.  When fully operational the school will enjoy varied sporting facilities on its extensive 25-acre site.

The role may also involve working at two nearby primary-phase schools; responsibilities will include: Security; Caretaking; General Maintenance; some Cleaning; generally reacting responsibly to issues as they arise on the site.

All our school sites need to be maintained as a safe and pleasant working environments that encourage young people to learn and have a pride in their school. Further details of the duties are listed in the Job Description in the Candidate Pack available for download on http://www.folio-education.co.uk/Current-Employment-Opportunities

The MAT comprises an established, outstanding boys’ grammar with mixed sixth form, a primary school, a junior school and a brand new secondary phase, comprehensive free school, Coombe Wood School: the last opened in 2018 and for which the building of a state-of-the-art £35M building project is underway and scheduled for completion in 2020.
