Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join Bury College as a Site Assistant. We are looking for individuals who want to be part of a team and can assist in providing a high quality and responsive estates service across the College.

We are looking for candidates who:

  • Have a proactive approach to maintenance and a can-do attitude
  • Have good problem-solving skills
  • Possess good general DIY skills and take pride in their work
  • Has great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Has a flexible approach to working
  • Are able to undertake painting, decorating and minor refurbishment work
  • Are able to, whilst working with the wider Estates team, undertake key-holding, maintenance, repair and porterage duties
  • Have the ability to promote a safe, secure and pleasant environment by undertaking and adhering to risk assessments, safe systems of work and College policy and procedure
  • Can ensure that the campus is safe and accessible to all learners and staff
  • Are able to act as a point of contact for staff, students, external contractors and visitors

As an ideal candidate, you will hold an NVQ level 2 qualification or have good experience in a relevant trade and have good general DIY skills with an enthusiastic and proactive approach to your work.
