Meopham School is seeking a dedicated and hardworking Site Assistant to help ensure our school remains a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment for our students and staff.
This is a vital role at the heart of our school community, offering variety, responsibility, and the chance to make a tangible difference every day.
Role and Responsibilities
As a Site Assistant, you will work closely with our Site Manager to maintain the high standards of our school premises. Your day-to-day will be dynamic, covering everything from essential maintenance to ensuring the security of our site.
Key Responsibilities include:
Site Security: Acting as a designated key holder and managing the opening and closing of the premises.
Maintenance & Repairs: Taking pride in the school's appearance by undertaking general repairs, decorating, and carpentry tasks.
Compliance & Safety: Performing checks on heating, lighting, and security systems while upholding strict Health & Safety standards.
Team Support: Assisting with site matters, event setup for school functions, and supporting the cleaning team to keep our site pristine.
About You
We are looking for a reliable professional who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a busy educational environment.
Essential Criteria:
Technical Proficiency: Strong practical skills in maintenance or the building industry.
Versatility: Ability to handle basic plumbing, carpentry, and electrical tasks.
Work Ethic: A flexible approach, a strong work ethic, and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to relate effectively to both colleagues and pupils.
Safeguarding: A commitment to the welfare and safety of our children.
Desirable Skills:
A clean driving license.
Certifications in First Aid, Asbestos Awareness, or Water Hygiene.
Experience with specialist equipment or ICT skills for record-keeping.
