Our ethos of ‘enjoy  respect  achieve’ underpins everything that we do. We give students unparalleled opportunities through an outstanding curriculum offer which is enriched by an extensive co-curricular programme. All students make excellent progress with their academic studies at our school, with staff building strong relationships and knowing every child as an individual. In 2024 our year 11 cohort achieved the school’s best ever progress score with an above average score 0.44 and 84% of students achieved Basics at grade 4.

This is balanced with wellbeing and pastoral support which secures exceptional personal development. We are leaders in outdoor education with an outdoor classroom, the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme running for all students and regular Big Expeditions to wilderness locations running alongside a variety of other trips at home and abroad. These core values help our students flourish throughout their school career, and on into later life.

We have exceptionally high expectations of learners and our staff are free to teach in a disruption free environment where students focus on learning and show very positive attitudes. Staff are extremely proud of the school and appreciate its focus on collaboration, equality and supporting workload. Staff also benefit from high-quality progressional development, with many choosing to continue their career progression within our school.

The school opened its doors to Year 7 pupils in 2016. Our new site has been designed and built with education at the forefront and includes specialist teaching spaces and a whole school one to one iPad provision. Having grown substantially since then, we are now a heavily oversubscribed school, with 1280 students on roll. In September 2026, we will be expanding further to include a 300-student sixth form, allowing us to see our students through to 18. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to play an active part of the development of the school as it grows, with rich opportunities for professional and career development both within the school and across the wider Academy Trust.

We are part of the supportive and innovative Bohunt Education Trust, a MAT with nine secondary schools. We may be separated geographically, however, all BET schools share the same vision and values. We believe as a trust, we are stronger together. We believe that children and adults should enjoy learning and life in school.
