Smart Teachers is recruiting for a Site Manager to work within a special needs school in North London, close to Enfield Lock and Waltham Cross. This special needs school caters to stduents aged 7-16, with social, emotional, mental health needs (SEMH). The Site Manager needs to be comfortable working within a special needs school, and ideally will have experience in managing a school site previously. This is a temporary role to start immediately.

About the Role

• Site Manager 

• Hours are 7 am to 5:00/5:30pm 

• Teaching Assistants with limited site management experience would be considered for this role 

• To safely and effectively manage the school buildings and grounds and services 

• To be responsible for the security of the premises, but will not be on the alarm call out

• General maintenance across the school including cleaning at the start and end of the day

• There will be some manual handling (i.e. furntiture, deliveries) and working at heights

• Includes some brief admin including sending and receiving of emails

• Temporary role

• Hourly rate of £15 

About the School

• Specialist provision for pupils aged 7-16 with social, emotional, mental health needs (SEMH)

• Approximately 50 children currently attend the school

• Set in a residential area that is easily accessible via public transport 

• Holistic approach to learning including practising Mindfulness and a Growth Mindset

• Working with the Felix Project to develop awareness around food waste

• Breakfast club on site

In order to be considered for this role, the Site Manager will need to meet the following criteria:

• Previous and recent experience working within a school setting, as either a Teaching Assistant or Site Manager

• Previous experience working within a special needs environment (desirable, but not essential)

• Have strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills

• Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)

• Recent school-based / relevant references and valid DBS / police checks
