Salary Details: Grade NJC19/6 £20493- £22627 full-time equivalent dependant on experience.  Actual salary paid is for 25 hours per week  pro-rata

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Site Manger ideally with previous experience in a similar role and experience and knowledge in routine maintenance tasks and health and safety.  Working as a Site Manager you will play a key role in the property management of the school including ensuring the security and health and safety of all school premises, regularly liaising with the School Business Manager on caretaking and site management issues.  You will be responsible for the security of the school premises and assist with the health and safety of all staff, pupils and visitors - keeping up to date checks and records of all maintenance tasks undertaken.

Working hours are: 5 hours per day during term-time:  During Term Time: Monday to Friday 7.30 am to 10.30 am OR 8-11 am      AND          2.45 pm to 4.45 pm

During School Holidays hours can be arranged to work flexibly during weekdays over fewer days depending on works scheduled during holiday periods.  Holidays are only permitted during school holiday closure periods.  Annual leave entitlement must be taken during school holiday closure periods.  This is a permanent contract.

We are seeking a candidate with previous experience in a similar role and experience and knowledge in routine maintenance tasks and health and safety.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

• Being responsible for the property management of the school including routine inspections of the building, fixtures, fittings, premises and grounds, liaising regularly with the School Business Manager on caretaking and site management issues and to ensure the school and its grounds are maintained in an attractive, clean and safe environment for all users in all weather conditions.

• To ensure the health and safety of the school premises and promote and ensure the health and safety of pupils, staff and visitors in accordance with appropriate health and safety legislation at all times

• Liaising with cleaning supervisor to ensure a clean and safe environment

• To maintain accurate records with regards to statutory servicing, testing and maintenance of fire safety and other equipment

• Ensure the security of the school premises, including opening and locking of the building and provide emergency access to the school site if needed

• Maintain all machinery and plant within the school and carry out simple repairs and improvements

• Assist the School Business Manager/Headteacher in the operation and management of the repairs and maintenance budget

• Responsible for hand tools, ladders etc

• Some physical effort required, including lifting and moving equipment

• The post holder is required monitor repairs and maintenance and undertake minor repairs

• Assist in safety audits and contribute to relevant risk assessment activities
