Job overview

The Governors of Emmanuel Church of England Primary School wish to appoint an excellent Site Service Manager to join our friendly and committed staff team.  This is a busy and interesting role working in a lovely part of London managing two buildings across the road from each other, one of which is a state-of-the art recent build.

 We are looking for someone who:

• Is responsible for day to day maintenance of the sites including security, locking and unlocking, and management of the alarm system and mechanical services

• Undertakes repairs and maintenance of the site undertaking minor repairs and following daily checks to ensure the site and grounds are maintained to a high standard

• Manages the appropriate statutory testing of all the heating, lighting and mechanical systems, and fire alarms

• Manages the relationship and scheduling of tasks with external contractors including cleaning

• Providing regular reports to the Headteacher, School Business Manager and Governors on maintenance issues


The successful candidate should have:

• Understanding of building maintenance including statutory testing and the ability to carry out minor repairs

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work as a member of a team and to work well with staff parents and contractors

• Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks

• Ability to use own initiative and work unsupervised

Emmanuel CE Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of its children. The appointment will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and appropriate references will be required. Also, this post is likely to come under the requirements of the Childcare (Disqualification) 2009 Regulations and the successful applicant will be required to complete a declaration form to establish whether they are disqualified under these regulations.
