Part of the New Bridge Multi Academy Trust, New Bridge Pathways provides a learning space and hub for Y10 – Y11 pupils from our secondary school population, based at a campus in the centre of Oldham.

The Trustees are now looking to appoint a Site Supervisor to work as part of the Premises Team in flexibly providing support, maintenance and general security at New Bridge Pathways in Oldham.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience in carrying out maintenance and daily repairs e.g. painting & decorating, general minor repairs (plumbing, carpentry and tiling), unblocking drains, fitting of shelves and other duties relevant to the post.
  • Experience of unlocking and locking school buildings each day, acting as key holder and responding to call outs as required
  • Experience in monitoring fire safety equipment and assisting with carrying out fire drills, responding to alarms, recording data as required by management, and recommending improvements to safety where necessary.
  • Experience of team-working to work effectively with others and meeting deadlines and goals.
  • Communication skills to deliver polite, courteous and efficient customer service.
  • Experience in undertaking daily checks in relation to Legionella
  • A hard working, organised and proactive approach to own personal and professional development.
  • Experience of stock control, COSHH and ordering of essential janitorial materials e.g. soap, paper towels, toilet rolls, light bulbs etc. and ensure these are maintained throughout the building as required, reporting any issues immediately to the line manager

Although based at New Bridge Pathways, all staff are employed by the MAT and are expected to work at any site within the New Bridge Group if requested.

This post will be subject to a number of pre-employment checks including an enhanced DBS check, satisfactory references and proof of right to work in the UK in accordance with the Asylum and Immigration Act 1996. It will be exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. DBS Code of Practice which can be viewed here.

Salary: NJC points 7-11: £25,584 - £27,269 per annum

Contracted hours: 36 hours 40 minutes per week / Full Year

Working Pattern: Split Shifts - 7:40am -11:30am, 13:30pm - 17:00pm, Monday to Friday

Based: Initially at New Bridge Pathways, 1 Medtia Square, Phoenix St, Oldham, OL1 1AN

Status: Permanent
