At Paignton Academy, we are dedicated to developing students not only academically but also socially, emotionally, and morally. We understand that as young people grow, their character and personalities are evolving, and we are committed to guiding them to develop traits that will help them succeed in life.

We want our students to be kind, polite, humble, and socially responsible. We focus on teaching them to show gratitude rather than entitlement, to take responsibility for themselves, others, and their community. We instill the importance of discipline and self-discipline, helping our pupils to develop resilience and the ability to face challenges without giving up. Our goal is for students to engage with difficult situations, learn from them, and grow stronger.

At Paignton Academy, we believe in the importance of building outstanding relationships between all key stakeholders:

  • School-to-parent/carer relationships: We value strong partnerships with parents and carers, ensuring our interactions are based on respect, politeness, and consideration. We believe collaboration between home and school is essential for the success of our pupils.

Love of Learning

By cultivating a love of learning, we help our students grow into well-rounded individuals who understand the world around them and are ready to play an active role in shaping the future.

Community

Serving the Paignton community is at the heart of everything we do. We teach our pupils to value their local community and instill pride in being part of both the Paignton Academy and the wider Paignton community. No matter where life takes them, we want our students to take pride in being connected to their community and to understand the impact they can have on it.

Pride

We ask our students to take pride in themselves and in everything they do. This means giving the best version of themselves every day, showing self-respect, and caring about how they are perceived by others. We believe that when students take pride in themselves and their actions, they are not only better individuals but contribute positively to their community.
