SIXTH FORM ACADEMIC MENTOR for HISTORY, GEOGRAPHY, GOVERNMENT & POLITICS
Full time (35 hours per week), term time plus three weeks
Required from November 2017 to August 2018
NJC Scale 4 £21,546 pro rata (actual gross monthly salary £1,656)
We are looking for a well-qualified honours graduate to become an Academic Mentor for History, Geography, Government & Politics. The successful applicant will support and challenge our sixth form students, helping them to become excellent independent learners. Applicants need a good degree in History or Government and Politics and the ability to offer support in Geography at A level.
Applicants will need a high level of academic literacy. In addition to mentoring, supervision of our study areas will be expected, ensuring that students are using their Supervised Study periods effectively and mentors are also required to contribute to our sixth form enrichment programme. Applicants will have experience of working with young people and a belief in their ability to succeed.
Closing date: 12 noon on Monday 30th October, with interviews later that week. Successful candidates must abide by our safeguarding policies and undergo and enhanced DBS check.
