Dixons McMillan rated outstanding in all areas by Ofsted in June 2017

Dixons McMillan opened in September 2014 with just one Year 7 cohort. In September 2016 we moved into our new building and we have close to 600 scholars on site. We will reach our full capacity in September 2018 with 720 scholars on site from Year 7 to Year 13.

We have very high expectations of staff, but we value them highly. We invest heavily in staff development and a growing school will offer many career opportunities in the coming years.

The post holder will be responsible for the administration of the sixth form scholars and be part of the scholar support team. Some tasks will include: administering the sixth form Bursary; overseeing the UCAS operations; supporting sixth from scholars pastorally; monitoring attendance and behaviour; and undertake administrative tasks by direction of the Senior Leadership Team.

Experience in a similar role is desirable with experience of all aspects of sixth form administration and working with sixth form scholars.

Above all, we are looking for someone who is fully committed to the vision and ethos of the Dixons group of academies; someone who can contribute fully to a can-do culture and a continuous drive for improvement; and someone who has at their heart the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the school.

The right candidate will possess:-

  • a strong moral purpose and drive for improvement for all
  • have a can-do attitude, positive and solution focused
  • a commitment to the happiness, well-being, self-esteem and progress of everyone at the academy
  • understand the importance of confidentiality and discretion
  • a keen eye for ensuring the safety of scholars
  • a keen eye for detail to ensure high quality outputs
  • highly developed IT skills
  • excellent proof reader
  • ability to work successfully under pressure

The academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Successful applicants will need to undertake a DBS enhanced clearance for the academy.
