POSITION: Sixth Form Learning Mentor

TYPE: Support

HOURS: 30 hours per week (38 weeks per year – term time plus 3 inset days

TIME: 8.30am – 3pm Monday to Friday (inc 30 mins unpaid break

We are willing to be flexible and negotiate timings

CONTRACT: Part time, permanent

GRADE: Range 3 (ISN 16 – 20)

PAY: £27,310 - £29,295 FTE / £18,310 - £19,641 pro rata

We are looking for a Sixth Form Learning Mentor to join our dedicated team of staff who guide and support our A-level students. The role involves supporting individual and small groups of students, specifically helping them adapt to independent study at A-level. The successful candidate will develop independent study programmes for students working alongside teachers and the Sixth Form team and under the guidance of the Director of Sixth Form. The role would be suitable for either a recent graduate looking to gain experience of working with young people or a more experienced individual looking to widen their expertise.

Chesham Grammar School is a successful and highly sought after co-educational grammar school with 1,272 students on roll (396 in the Sixth Form).

The School covers a site of about 20 acres, encompassing Chesham Leisure Centre, and is classed as ‘within an area of outstanding natural beauty’.
