School 21 is one of the most exciting 4 to 18 schools in the country, pioneering a range of powerful approaches to the curriculum and teaching.  Building on School 21’s reputation for excellence – rated outstanding in all categories by Ofsted – we opened our sixth form, Six 21, in September 2017.


Sixth form is an exciting time in students’ lives as they make the transition from childhood to adulthood.  We are looking for a caring, enthusiastic and organised person to help support students make this transition as successfully as possible so they can fulfil their potential and leave us with the skills, experience and qualifications to enable them to make a difference to the world.

In addition to the main duties listed below, the successful candidate would lead a project or development in a mutually agreed area within the sixth form.

Main duties:

Sixth Form independent learning

  • Supervision of the independent study rooms, creating a positive work culture and mentoring students as required to support them in developing independence, time management skills, successful study and revision techniques, and other areas as required.
  • Organisation of study spaces to promote learning
  • Liaising with careers and pastoral staff re raising achievement and aspirations of students.


Assistance in administrative work and sixth form data. This will include:

  • Monitoring, tracking and follow up on sixth form attendance and punctuality.
  • Tracking and managing data from both prospective and current sixth form students.
  • Day to day handling of student enquiries.
  • Filing of student records.
  • Update and management of SIMs for sixth form students.
  • Time management coaching and 1:1s linking punctuality and attendance to academic outcomes and future aspirations.


Other duties:

  • Assist with the sixth form application process including marking applications and interviewing of prospective students.
  • There is the chance in this role to develop in areas of your interest. This can be discussed in your induction to the school.
  • Any other duties as directed by the Sixth Form Coordinator or the Head of Sixth Form.

They have spoken out about human rights, ran campaigns to improve the biodiversity of Stratford and charted local history through photographs and poetry. Student work has been critiqued by directors and historians, professors and artists. All work is displayed, celebrated and challenged at termly Exhibitions of Beautiful Work where children tell us their stories of learning, drawing on their deep wells of oracy and well-being.
