Believe, Connect, Excel, Innovate, Persevere

This role offers an opportunity to play a significant part in our wonderful inclusive school community.  Ofsted recently praised our caring community and notes that students “conduct themselves in a calm and orderly manner and behave well in lessons”.

This is an excellent opportunity for a bright, energetic, and innovative individual to take on the role of Sixth Form Study Supervisor. This is a role of responsibility with an opportunity to shape provision, build the skills and aspirations of young people whilst also looking to stretch and challenge yourself!

Our evolving Sixth Form is an integral part of our school community. We are determined to improve outcomes for all our young people. So, if you have a passion for working with young people, and a commitment to ensure that students are ready for their next steps in education, employment, or further training, we would like to hear from you.

The successful applicant will be a highly committed, motivated, and passionate non-teaching member of staff, who can lead by example. We want you to believe in a strong work ethos that you can share with our young people, and to engage professionally with them to show them how they can shape their own futures.

You would be part of the Sixth Form Team, working with our Head and Deputy Heads of Sixth Form and SLT, to ensure the best use of resources, time, and facilities to ensure students are motivated to fulfil and exceed their potential. Our staff are warm and welcoming, and we have great sixth form facilities including study spaces and a small refectory. There are lots of opportunities within this role, and across the wider school, to develop your professional profile and experiences.

Caterham High has been at the heart of the local community for over 60 years providing an excellent education for all young people that join our thriving institution. We are ambitious for our students, setting high aspirations in all that they do. We aim to ensure that they achieve the best exam results possible, have opportunities to develop their talents and aptitudes, and become confident young people who will step out to meet the challenges of the world today.

We pride ourselves on providing an outstanding learning environment in which all students realise their full potential. As a six form entry school we know our students very well, catering for the needs of the individual and ensuring strong pastoral and academic support. This makes us popular with students and staff alike who thrive on good working relationships and caring attitudes that create a warm, purposeful atmosphere. Our students come from a wide range of backgrounds, with many races, religions, cultures and languages represented.  We celebrate our diversity and welcome the opportunities it gives us to learn from each other.

Our home-school partnerships are very strong.  For students to maximise their potential, it is vital that parents and carers and the school work productively together. We use regular monitoring, target setting and dialogue with students and parents and carers to ensure students make good progress. There are many opportunities, formal and informal, for dialogue, which we strongly welcome.

We have an expanding and responsive curriculum aimed at enhancing choice and opportunity for students as they progress through the school from Year 7 to Year 13.  Our teaching is both innovative and challenging both in content and delivery, and ICT is used throughout the school to bring the curriculum to life and to stimulate and engage students in their learning. We make good use of our facilities (including the astro-turf pitch, pool, fitness suite and dance studio) and ensure that every child can be involved in the enrichment opportunities on offer.

Caterham High is a school with great strengths. Students of all ages are eager to learn and take pride in their school. They are the perfect ambassadors for us.

Please do not hesitate to contact the school if you would like to arrange an appointment to visit.

We thank you for your interest in our School and look forward to hearing from you.

Belinda Chapple

Headteacher
