Job overview

Canons High School is a vibrant and dynamic multicultural school community in Edgware, NW London. Our school is renowned for being one in which people matter. Relationships are strong, opportunities for progression are many and the personal and professional development of adults and children is at the heart of what we do.

At Canons, we pride ourselves on the training and development of all our staff so that students are taught effectively and supported within and beyond the classroom to the highest levels. School leaders at all levels are well-equipped to use their professional judgment and a wide range of information to challenge and engage all students to achieve success, identify underachievement, act upon it and help students get back on track. We offer a well-balanced three year KS3 programme that enables students to enjoy success in their GCSE exams, which begin in Year 10.

Working within the Learning Development Faculty we are looking to appoint a  teacher to plan and deliver specialist small group tuition (intervention) with a focus on literacy and numeracy to students with additional needs. The ideal candidate would have a strong experience of running small group interventions.  Knowledge and/or understanding of primary or specialist settings would be an advantage for candidates for this post.  Where this is not applicable we would be looking for candidates to have a visible commitment to, and plans for, gaining such knowledge

Alongside the opportunities for students there are opportunities for teaching staff to develop their careers in an exciting and innovative department.

This is temporary position until July 2025, but further funding for this post may be deployed if the programmes delivered are successful in improving literacy and numeracy across the school.

Salary: MPS/UPR with outer London allowance

The closing date is  Tuesday 24th 2022 May at 9am

Interviews will take place on  Thursday 26th May 2022
