Al Walaa Kindergarten School - A Taaleem Charter School

As a leading education provider in the Middle East, Taaleem is supporting the UAE Vision and National Agenda 2021, and the Emirate of Abu Dhabi in their commitment to establishing a “First Rate Education System” for all students.  The Charter Schools is a third education model in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi and it is the outcome of a unique partnership between the government and the private sectors. 

As part of this new initiative we were awarded 4 schools in 2019 to manage and operate, with the aim of raising the quality of education; playing a significant role in shaping the present and future lives of Emirati youth. This recently increased to 6 schools from August 2021 and 9 schools from August 2022. 

Al Walaa KG School delivers the American Curriculum (NY Standards) and is situated on a purpose built campus, with eighteen classes from Pre-KG to KG2.

We are seeking outstanding, dedicated and resilient Social Counsellor who is committed to the long-term goals of this project. We would like to recruit someone who believes they can make a difference to the lives of the students and who wants to take an active role in sharing their expertise as the school continues to grow.

The projected growth of the Taaleem Branch Charter School Project will offer a broad range of career opportunities in the coming years. 

Requirements - You will:    

  • Hold a relevant university degree in counselling or social work.
  • Have further therapeutic training or a qualification in working with children and young people.
  • Have recent successful experience of counselling school-aged students
  • Possess strong knowledge and experience of working with Emirati/Arabic students.
  • Have experience of providing support and guidance to families.
  • Be available to join in August 2023

  • Have excellent communication skills and command of Arabic and English languages, in spoken and written form.
  • Possess an understanding of the developmental, emotional, social and educational issues of children and young people.
  • Be a collaborative team-player with excellent personal and relationship management skills.
  • Have knowledge of child protection and health and safety.
  • Be an empathetic listener with a high level of emotional intelligence.

Although we follow the New York State Next Generation Early Learning Standards, knowledge of the American curriculum is not essential, as training will be provided.
