Our aim is to establish a culture of excellence throughout every element of our academy and move us from Good to Outstanding.

Just 30 minutes by train from Central London, The Highcrest Academy is the first All Ability Academy in the county of Buckinghamshire. It is culturally diverse and a vibrant school making it a fantastic place to teach. We have some students who will need all your support and yet we also featured in the national Ofsted report (2016) for providing challenge to the most able. Does this enthuse you?

There are approximately 950 students on roll, which includes the Sixth Form. A new building programme, just completed, comprises a brand new Sixth Form Centre, sports facilities including a gym and a new restaurant and coffee shop for both students and staff.

We are seeking to appoint a Teacher of Sociology and Health and Social Care who demonstrates passion for their subject, as well as a commitment to improving student outcomes. You must be able to teach Sociology in KS4 and KS5 and BTEC Health and Social Care Level 2 and Level 3. There is also the possibility that you may be asked to teach a little English.

Committed to raising attainment, you will have the ability to motivate students and help develop engaging and inspiring curriculum in Sociology across all Key Stages. We pride ourselves on our commitment to ensuring pupils achieve their full potential and push themselves beyond their comfort zones.

The well-established and successful Health and Social Care department offers BTEC Level 1/Level 2 First Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care, BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Health and Social Care, and BTEC Level 3 National Foundation Diploma in Health and Social Care.

This role could suit an NQT or more experienced teacher. Highcrest offers an innovative and extensive CPD package. No matter what your experience, we will help you develop into the teacher you aspire to be.

“I’d definitely say our INSET and CPD programme/sessions are far better than anything I’ve seen or heard of from other schools.” ... Head of Art

We also have a thriving House system that brings our whole school community together.

“The growing house system encourages competition between not only students but also staff, which creates a real community feeling, making it an enjoyable place to work.” ... Head of Humanities

If you are passionate about education and want to really make a difference to the lives of young people then The Highcrest Academy could be the school for you; a thriving school in the heart of the community, with free on-site parking, staff recognition schemes and free gym to counter the “Friday Biscuits” and on-site coffee shop!
