King Edward’s School and King Edward VI High School are looking for a Sous Chef for a term-time only, temporary position from November 2018 to June 2019. 

We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic individual for this challenging role, with a high level of responsibility. This important post requires an experienced caterer with a detailed understanding of the workings of a large kitchen, and a proven track record of excellent customer service.

The standard working hours are 40 hours per week, 6.00am to 2.30pm, term-time only. The role has an annual salary of £25,428 at Grade 7 SCP 18 on the Support Staff salary scale.


Key responsibilities

Sous Chef responsibilities and duties include:

  • Daily production of dishes for the Schools’ menus
  • Developing new menus with the Chef team
  • Support the maintenance of the Dining Hall’s EHO requirements, diligence, HACCP & COSHH
  • Event catering (to include some evenings and weekends)
  • Sports catering
  • Any other requirements
