Job overview

Thuringia International School (ThIS) in central Germany seeks a Spanish teacher, preferably beginning immediately, able to work with a range of age levels in the Upper School, including IGCSE and IB DP exam courses. This position is a maternity leave cover and lasts until July 2018.

ThIS is set in the beautiful town of Weimar and provides an international experience for 315 children of expatriates as well as German nationals. The school is an authorized IB World School, a member of the Association of German International Schools, and is accredited by the Council of International Schools.

The successful candidate will have a relevant degree and teaching certificate, and at least 2 years previous experience teaching Spanish in an Upper/Secondary school. They will be able to demonstrate a commitment to international values, an ability to work in a flexible and collaborative manner, and good inter-personal skills. A willingness to work closely with teachers, to partake in after-school activities, and to support school events are important. The school will provide full support to the selected teacher with immediate travel to Weimar and finding living accommodation near the school.
