Job Purpose: Implement the schools SEN by ensuring the school offers suitable education to those with individual needs.

  • Support SEN Pupils on a 1:1 basis.
  • Oversee EAL, SEN and More Able provision throughout the school
  • Create effective strategies and detailed support plans suited to the individual needs of the students.
  • Provide targeted support outside of the classroom.
  • Working with SEN students, focusing on developing social and emotional skills.
  • Working closely with teachers to monitor progress of students.
  • Liaising with the Admissions team to set up suitable strategies for prospective students, ensuring that the school can meet their needs.
  • Ensure that all learning support interventions are timely, effective and appropriate.

·         Working with teachers, to provide guidance re differentiation, both in general and specifically, in order to ensure that all pupils make good progress, whatever their starting points.

  • Ensure that all learning support is accurate and up to date, with evidence that complies with local guidelines and school policies.
  • Promote inclusivity and student independence, acting as an advocate for students with additional learning needs.
  • Cross reference behaviour and welfare information with student achievement, note patterns and share with Head T&L, HoDs, Heads of Key Stage and Boarding Team in order to provide strategies for students to facilitate progress.
  • Promote equality and diversity.
  • Maintain accurate marking and records of student progress and outcomes.
  • ability to teach EFL


We are looking for an individual who:

  • has experience of working in a school environment
  • has EFL experience 
  • has experience in dealing with parents and visitors, face to face and through written communication on a clear and professional manner
  • has a good understanding and knowledge of additional needs
  • is efficient under pressure with the ability to remain calm and professional
  • has excellent interpersonal and communication skills including the ability to relate well to adults and young people on all levels with the ability to enthuse, inspire, influence and motivate others
  • has excellent IT skills including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • has excellent administration skills, with a high level of attention to detail
  • has the ability to work effectively on own initiative and as part of a team
  • has the ability to multitask, prioritise and work to time schedules
  • is able to maintain confidentiality and be discreet
