We are seeking to recruit a Special Education Needs Coordinator who is imaginative, creative and inspired to work in a supportive, energetic and innovative school where students are making significant and sustained progress. The SENCo will work in partnership with, and advise SLT in the decision-making and leadership of SEND across the School.

The successful candidate will have a track record of securing excellent outcomes for children who have specific needs. They will also be responsible for the management of all the SEND teaching assistants and associated provision as well as working with external agencies. Should the successful candidate not have SEN accreditation, the school will support them in acquiring this certification.

Upper Shirley High School is a mixed, mainstream secondary academy in Southampton, Hampshire. The school caters for students aged 11 to 16.

Upper Shirley High School is part of the Jefferys Education Partnership, a multi-academy trust. Formerly Bellemoor School, the school changed its name in September 2008 and became an academy in 2012.
