Tes are currently working on behalf of a well established and inclusive Secondary School in the Falkland Islands who is seeking to appoint an experienced and inspiring Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Co-ordinator starting September 2022.

 They are looking for a full time SEND Co-ordinator who would be responsible for directing and supporting provision and intervention strategies in mainstream and specialist teaching settings within the 3 – 16 age range. The successful applicant will join a well-resourced school with a supportive staff team, small class sizes and students who are keen to learn.   Applicants for the post will be experienced and have up-to-date relevant knowledge within the Special Educational Needs and Disabilities field.  The successful candidate will join a dedicated team and work across all of our settings.  Cross phase working supports student outcomes and curriculum development across the 3-16 age range.  

This is a unique opportunity for a teaching adventure to the southern hemisphere to work short term, within an English school system. Enjoy a second summer, explore the wildlife and dramatic seascapes that the Falkland Islands has to offer!

The ideal candidate is a graduate teacher with  at least 3 years' successful experience as a SENCo and at least 3 years’ teaching experience. They would have experience teaching students with a wide variety of complex needs working across the ability spectrum and is able to support the design of bespoke programmes for life skills, functional level numeracy and literacy, as well as supporting the students to enable them to access other mainstream subjects.
