Batley Multi Academy Trust’s sole purpose is to provide a great education for Primary and Secondary learners throughout a local family of schools. The Trust is passionately committed to the communities of Batley, Birstall, Dewsbury and our surrounding areas, serving our local learners and their families in order to secure excellent educational outcomes, partnered with high aspirations. Batley Multi Academy Trust currently comprises Batley Girls’ High School, Batley Grammar School, Field Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery School, Healey Junior, Infant and Nursery School, Manorfield Infant and Nursery School and Upper Batley High School. We provide high quality education for all young people. This collaboration enables us to share expertise, knowledge and best practice to ensure academic and pastoral excellence throughout all of our schools, with all schools embracing the same overall ethos and values, whilst maintaining their own unique characters.

Field Lane Junior, Infant and Nursery School is at the heart of the community in every way. We encourage freedom of expression through both learning and play, and offer an outside space that helps to enrich our students’ time away from the classroom. Inside the school we have a bespoke library space which enables the children to interact with books in a comfortable and interesting setting. Our curriculum is engaging and aspirational and ensures our young people see the role they play in their local, national and even international community. We are a small school, with a very big heart.

We are seeking to appoint an experienced, articulate and enthusiastic Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator. The post holder will work with staff and young people to ensure all young people make progress based on their starting points. The SENDCo will lead and model best practice, and monitor and evaluate the quality of provision for all aspects of SEND.

Reporting to the Headteacher, the successful applicant will contribute to the school’s strategic development of inclusive practice, working closely with the Trust SEND Lead and school leadership team. The successful applicant will have QTS and be an inspirational teacher and leader; hold the National Award for SEND Coordination Qualification, or be willing to work towards it and be an excellent communicator with a child centered approach to education, and have highly developed, persuasive, influencing and networking skills. A flexible ‘can do’ attitude is essential, as is the ability to provide the very best levels of service to the school’s stakeholders for the benefit of all our young people.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a supportive forward thinking Trust, who in return for your commitment and hard work, will support you to achieve your own career goals and aspirations.
