Job overview
The governors invite applications from experienced SENDCo’s to join our successful school. Uphall is a growing school with 5 form entry up to Year 5 in September 2018. We have children of many cultures and abilities making our school a vibrant community to work in.
As SENDCo you will develop existing good practice. You will be responsible for coordinating provision for special educational needs throughout the school as well as managing a large team of Learning and Teaching Assistants (LTAs). You will ensure school practices reflect the inclusive cultures and policies of the school. This is a non-teaching post.
We are seeking someone who has:-
• QTS with at least 7 years teaching experience in the UK
• NASENCo qualification • current experience of being a SENDCo
• proven excellent classroom practice
• a successful track record of improving the quality of provision and raising the
attainment of pupils with SEN
• the ability to take the lead and enhance the practice of all staff
• a good understanding of inclusive education
• can work closely with SENDCo Assistant and
• is committed to the provision of equal opportunities
• is committed to supporting parents and providing quality learning experiences for them
and their child
