Aldercar High School is seeking to appoint a Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO ) for January 2019 or sooner. This is a key position in the school, co-ordinating SEN provision, promoting inclusion and leading a very committed team of teachers and learning support assistants. We have a successful enhanced resource facility for both physically impaired and hearing impaired within Inclusion which provides opportunities for the SENCO to extend their experiences.

This is an extremely exciting opportunity for an outstanding leader who has the experience and determination to join the school on its journey of improvement so that it can achieve its full potential.  The 2017 Progress 8 score for the school is 0.1. This is an improvement of 0.5 from 2016 making us one of the fastest improving schools in the local area.

The successful candidate will hold the National SENCO Award or commit to completing the qualification within 3 years of appointment. In addition, applicants must have a proven track record of successful teaching and be able to inspire colleagues. Experience of managing a team would be an advantage.

This is an exciting time to join the school which has new state of the art facilities which have recently been opened.

Due to this post having access to children and/or vulnerable adults, the successful candidate will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service check.
