‘A job or a pathway into leadership?’

An exciting opportunity exists to join the Inclusion Faculty and be part of the strategic vision for the support, progress and challenge of students with SEND. The Academy is on the cusp of developing an inner college with a focus on raising the attainment and progress of our SEND students.  The post holder will play a key role in the development and success of the inner college and have the drive, passion and ambition to support the success of our SEND students.

The pathway includes excellent support and coaching from an experienced leader and includes:

Year 1:   SENCo   
Year 2:   NPQSL or similar to support professional development
Year 3 (or sooner): Opportunity to progress to SLT as an Associate Leader with whole Academy responsibilities and visit a PISA participating country/school.

In addition the Academy also offers 5 annual scholarships for teachers to seek internationally renowned best practice to continually challenge and raise standards to world class levels.

Stockley Academy, an 11-18 academy, based in Hillingdon Middlesex will join leading academy sponsor, Aspirations Academies Trust, from 1st September 2017.   This will allow Stockley Academy to benefit from the experience and outstanding academic credentials of a leading academy trust and will strengthen Aspirations Academies Trust’s London District of academies.  

As part of the new partnership, Stockley Academy will be renamed Park Academy West London and will enjoy a close working relationship with the Aspiration Academies Trust’s other academies in London.  These are Rivers Academy West London, which was judged ‘outstanding’ in its recent Ofsted report, Space Studio West London, which specialises in space, aerospace, science and maths, Tech City College and, in the primary sector, Oriel Academy and Oak Hill Academy. 

The Trust also operates the Aspirations Teaching School Alliance which provides high quality training and support for teachers.At Stockley Academy we aim to inspire young people to be adaptable, tolerant and prepared to work hard. We want them to take their place in the community and the wider world, proud of their achievements and with the necessary skills, confidence and self reliance.

We offer a broad and balanced education for students between 11 and 19, specialising in Science and Technology. 

The Academy is ideally situated ten miles from the centre of London and forty miles from Oxford in the London Borough of Hillingdon, with good transport links to the M4, M40 and M25.  The impressive  £26 million building opened in September 2005, offering state of the art facilities providing an excellent learning environment for the 21st Century. 

In 2016, in terms of the 5A*-C measure, students’ results at GCSE were the best ever: 50% of students achieved 5 grades A*-C including English and mathematics, surpassing last year’s figure of 38% and 29% in 2014. These results demonstrate welcome, rapid improvement. There was good performance in core subjects English language (62% A*-C) and mathematics (58% A*-C).

At Key Stage 5 results in summer 2016 show marked improvement in attainment. A–level students had their best ever results: 49% of students in Year 13 achieved A*-B grades (2015 – 43.2%), 71% A*-C, and 97% of students achieved A*-E. The Academy received recognition of its success at A Level in 2016 when ALPs awarded Stockley Academy with a Certificate of Outstanding Progress (2016) in recognition of the Academy’s performance.  On completion of their analysis of ‘A’ level performance, across England, Wales and Northern Ireland in 2016.  Stockley Academy's 3 year score indicates that its results are within the ‘Top 25%’ of their national benchmark. 

Our impressive range of facilities includes: a suite of Science laboratories and a Science garden; advanced Design and Technology workshops with industry-standard equipment; food technology rooms; and Art and Design suite with graphic design technology; the UK’s First LEGO Education Centre; a video editing suite; large drama studio; excellent music suite with advanced electronic music recording studio and individual practice rooms; a restaurant and fitness suite.
