 FTE Salary - £40,517.19 – £42,140.18


The SENCO will be required to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people, and follow school policies and the staff code of conduct. To support the Executive Principal in providing leadership for the school and in securing its success and continuous improvement, ensuring high quality education for all its students and the highest standards of learning and achievement in accordance with statutory and Ofsted requirements and the vision, and method of Ruskin Mill Trust. This includes working closely with the senior leadership team in the development of the school curriculum, braiding the land, seasons, the national curriculum, PSTE (Practical Skills Therapeutic Education) with the insights of Rudolf Steiner, for children and young people with complex learning needs.

 The SENCO, under the direction of the Executive Principal, will:

 

·      Determine the strategic development of special educational needs (SEN) policy and provision in the school

·      Be responsible for day-to-day operation of the SEN policy and co-ordination of specific provision to support individual students with SEN or a disability

·      Provide professional guidance to colleagues, working closely with staff, parents and other agencies

·      To provide parents and students with regular opportunities to have their voice heard, to offer support and guidance and ensure that a programme of events is planned annually for parents to attend
