Job Title: Part-Time SENCO
Hours of Work: 3 days per week
The SENCO is an experienced teacher with a passion for supporting pupils with special educational needs.
Main Duties and responsibilities:
- To assist with the development of the the school’s SEN policy and provision
- To carry out assessments of pupils with SEN needs and monitor progress
- Liaison with pupils, parents and other relevant professionals to develop, implement and monitor pupil learning
- To support parents with applications for SENA funding and initial EHCP applications
- To develop schemes of work and learning programmes for pupils with SEN
- To be involved in the regular frequent review of each individual’s progress in line with short and long term targets, including annual reviews
- To ensure annual review paperwork is completed accurately and in line with statutory timescales
- To ensure pupils receive the correct provision to make progress and is in line with any EHCP documentation
- To prepare tribunal information and attend tribunal hearings if required
- To assist in the admissions process of prospective pupils
- To assist in ensuring that all databases and documentation are up to date
- To regularly write detailed reports to parents in line with the school policy
- To provide advice, guidance and training to teaching and support staff

The School currently has 240 pupils and since 2014, has been under the ownership of Cavendish Education Ltd.
