Tadley Court School is seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our passionate team. As the SENCO, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that all our SEN pupils receive the support and resources they need to thrive both academically and socially.


The role of the SENCO is important both to the ongoing strategic development of the school as well as the effective integration of school’s educational and therapeutic functions. The SENCO will be a member of the Leadership Team working within the Admissions and Pupil Wellbeing Team.

You will make a significant contribution to the core purpose of our school which is to ensure that all our pupils achieve their best personal potential, take a leading role in promoting and supporting exceptional standards for all pupils and a positive ethos within the school. This will be achieved by close professional liaison and dialogue with colleagues in the Clinical Team, Educational Team, Parents, and External Stakeholders. 


The successful candidate:


  • Will hold UK QTS
  • Will be able to demonstrate proven experience working as a SENCO and their ability to inspire and motivate other teachers, model good practice and embed a whole school commitment to supporting all pupils
  • Have an understanding of SEND legislation, policies, and best practices are a must
  • Possess the ability to run effective annual reviews using the Tadley framework; to lead on PEP reviews and liaise with finance for pupil premium spend; to be the designated teacher for Children who are Looked After (CLA / LAC)
  • Will run annual reviews for EHCPs, designated teacher for LAC, have pupil premium oversight & line manage the therapy team

Tadley Court School is a special school with an Ofsted rating of GOOD with Outstanding features. Our school is set in a beautiful semi-rural location with four acres of well maintained grounds. We are a day school specialising in the education and care of up to 65 children and young people between the age of 4 and 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties. Our children and young people may also exhibit challenging behaviour associated with their communication difficulties and lack of social understanding.
