Abbot’s Hill School is seeking to appoint a Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) to provide support and build relationships with pupils at all stages of their school career.

This pivotal role is key to enabling every pupil to achieve their best and reports directly to the Deputy Head (Academic).

We have an exciting opportunity for a well-qualified, motivated and compassionate SENDCo to lead our Learning Support Department. As SENDCo, the post holder will be responsible for providing clear and compelling leadership to the Learning Support Department and be ambitious for those who are identified as requiring support.

They will also provide professional guidance and training in the area of SEND in order to secure high quality teaching and the effective use of resources to ensure high standards of achievement for all pupils.

There may be an opportunity for the post holder to teach curriculum lessons within an academic department if experience and qualifications are suitable and/or be a tutor to a small group of pupils.

The post holder will work co-operatively with the Prep SENDCo, especially to ensure a smooth transition from Year 6 to Year 7 and the accurate transfer of records.
