Smart Teachers are searching for inspired Australian and New Zealand educators to apply for an experienced Teaching Assistant with Special Educational Needs (SEN) experience to work at an Independent School in West London. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will work alongside a primary aged child on a one a one to one basis in a mainstream classroom setting. The SEN Teaching Assistant will have experience working with primary aged children who are academic but find it challenging expressing themselves and making social links with their peers. The SEN Teaching Assistant will be joining a school with an effective SEN Department with the aim of supporting children and allow them to access the mainstream classes. The SEN Teaching Assistant would be joining the staff of an Independent School with a great reputation both academically and pastorally. The role is full time and would start immediately for the right candidate.

• $150 AUD per day - Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are: Bachelor of Education / Post Graduate Diploma of Education / or equivalent teaching degree with current teacher registration

In order to be considered for this role, the Class Cover Teacher will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Bachelor of Education / Post Graduate Diploma of Education / or equivalent teaching degree with current teacher registration
  • Proven experience teaching the UK, or an equivalent, curriculum
  • Graduate Teachers and/or OS-trained teachers are welcome to apply
  • Have strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa/right to work)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
