Smart Teachers is recruiting for a Special Needs support assistant / Teaching Assistant to join a warm and welcoming primary school in Ealing. This school accommodates a higher than average cohort of children with diagnosed special educational needs, and hosts two specialist classrooms catering specifically to those children. Special needs support assistants / classroom assistants are needed for both immediate and January 2020 starts.

• Special Needs Support Assistant/classroom assistant

• To work collaboratively within a large team 

• Working on a 1:1 and sometimes 2:1 basis with more than 1 child throughout the week

• Have experience of working with SEMH children, and those on the Autistic disorder spectrum

• Long term supply contract

• Daily rate £70-£80

• Contract type/term

• Two form entry Primary school with an attached provision catering for children with a broad range of needs

• Ofsted graded ‘Good’

• High levels of inclusive learning, actively encouraged

• Easily accessible from Ealing Broadway and other West London boroughs

• Close to Leyton, Forest Gate and Walthamstow Central station

In order to be considered for this role, the Special Needs Support Assistant will need to meet the following criteria:

• Hold an educational degree or have proven experience of working in Primary schools 

• Having experience of working with children with ASD and SEMH is advantageous yet not essential

• Have strong communication, literacy and numeracy skills

• Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)

• Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
