Vision for Education are recruiting on behalf of a special school in North Bradford that are actively recruiting for several full time Special Needs Teaching Assistants to start from September (or earlier) to work with their pupils that have Autism and challenging behaviour in a new unit that the school are in the process of building. The successful candidate will be tasked with working with small classes of between 4-7 pupils which will be made up of pupils aged between 3-19 as the school caters for EYFS all the way up to post 16. The responsibilities of a teaching assistant at this school are as follows: supporting the class teacher to deliver work in accordance with the national curriculum, supporting the class teacher to manage behaviour, supporting pupils on a one to one basis, contributing to record keeping, liaising with parents and multidisciplinary teams and attending school trips/outings. To be considered for this role, it is essential that you have 6 months minimum experience working in a similar setting with people that have learning disabilities and autism, this could be a similar school, residential care home, supported living etc.
