The role

Smart Teachers are seeking to recruit a Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join a highly reputable primary school in Greenford, West London. The successful Special Needs Teaching Assistant will work as a TA in the school’s on site ASD Unit, supporting KS2 pupils. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and other TA’s to create a safe and engaging learning environment for the pupils. They must have the ability to follow instruction and follow routines but also be able to manage groups of pupils independently and use their initiative. Experience with using PECS is desirable but not essential.

Graded ‘Good’ by Ofsted, the school is two form entry and caters for children from a wide range of different ethnic backgrounds and academic abilities. The school has created a community feel and welcomes active parental involvement. The school is located in West London and has good links to the Central line plus an onsite car park. This is a great opportunity to join a tight knit team, who have worked tirelessly to create an environment where children have a thirst for knowledge. The role is for the remaining duration of this academic year, with the possibility of being re-employed for September 2021. 

Requirements

To be considered for the Special Needs Teaching Assistant position, you will:

• Hold an enhanced DBS 

• Have previous experience working with children in the UK in the past 2 years
