The Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Academies Trust (SENDAT) is a Multi Academy Trust focusing on specialist provision and special schools. Its core aim is to provide for the continuum of special needs across the Eastern region. All SENDAT schools and alternate provisions have Trauma Informed practices embedded across the curriculum and SENDAT staff colleagues are given training and support to develop and use these skills in their day-to-day working.
An exciting new opportunity has arisen for Special Teaching Assistants to join the Learning Support team at our new Priory School Aspire provision. You will support teaching and learning, working 1:1 or with very small groups of students, who have specific learning needs which cannot be met in a mainstream or other larger group setting. This is a challenging role, but incredibly rewarding as part of a team which works together to make a real positive difference to the lives of our most vulnerable students.
As part of SENDAT, you will have access to:
- Opportunities for flexible working
- Ongoing professional development
- A range of employee benefits including Healthcare and Cycle2Work scheme
- A supportive and friendly working environment
If you would like an informal discussion prior to submitting your application, you are welcome to contact Sharron White:

Closing date: 09:00 on 6th June 2022
We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks required for relevant posts.
SENDAT – welcoming diversity.

About Priory School
Priory School is a school for young people with complex and moderate learning difficulties between the ages of 9 to 18 years. It offers a term time 23 bed residential provision offering consistent school based support as well as extra curricular and social opportunities.
Our vision is to develop well-rounded individuals who can go forward into their adult lives prepared for the work environment and capable of being independent and productive citizens.
We believe that high quality education is best achieved when the needs of each individual pupil – social, emotional, spiritual and educational – are considered to be paramount. Through focusing on pupils as individuals, we will aim to tailor challenging and enjoyable educational programmes to directly meet their needs and to truly personalise learning.
We will work with each pupil, their parents / carers and other professionals to understand, and work to overcome, each pupil’s particular barriers to learning, so they can achieve their full potential within a secure and caring environment.
We will develop our capacity as a special academy school to enhance the range of experiences available to our pupils and offer them increasing opportunities for personal, social, intellectual and physical development through both our day and residential provision. Linked to this, we will continue to work with the wider community to ensure Priory School has central place within it.
