Speech and Language Pathologist - Consultancy Contract
Position Summary: The American International School Dhaka is seeking a skilled, passionate Speech and Language Pathologist to join our Inclusionary Learning Center on a consultancy basis. Working alongside our school Doctor and Occupational Therapist, you'll support students' communication, academic, and social-emotional development — and extend your impact to partner international schools in Dhaka. Educational Qualifications:
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.
Valid certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
Experience:
Proven experience working with Pre-K-12 students with diverse communication needs.

MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY INCLUDE
Assess & Diagnose
Conduct comprehensive speech, language, and communication evaluations using standardized assessments
Differentiate between language differences and language disorders
Intervene & Serve
Develop, implement, and monitor measurable Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or Individualized Family Service Plans (IFSPs) aligned with curriculum standards and student needs
Provide evidence-based interventions through flexible service delivery models including:
Individual therapy sessions for intensive skill development
Small group sessions for peer interaction and generalization
Push-in classroom support and co-teaching to address goals within the academic context
Collaborative consultation with teachers to embed communication strategies
Design and implement interventions for language processing disorders, addressing receptive, expressive, and processing components that impact academic achievement
Support literacy development through phonological awareness training, vocabulary development, reading comprehension strategies, and written language skills
Work within our Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) framework
Collaborate & Consult
Build trusting relationships with students and families through regular communication
Partner with general and special education teachers to:
Align speech-language goals with curriculum objectives
Model language facilitation strategies in the classroom
Adapt instructional materials and assessments for students with communication needs
Professional Responsibilities
Maintain comprehensive documentation including evaluation reports andIEP progress monitoring
Collect and analyze data to inform intervention decisions and demonstrate student progress
Stay current with evidence-based practices through ongoing professional development
Contribute to program development and quality improvement initiatives
