In pursuit of excellence in education, Qatar Foundation Schools is seeking an exceptional Speech & Language Pathologist to serve at the The Learning Center beginning August 2025.
The Learning Center
The Learning Center (TLC) is a centralized student support services team comprised of special educators and school-based specialists. They collaborate with schools to develop an inclusive approach that provides a tiered system of support to students from early childhood through secondary education.
Location: Doha is the capital of Qatar – a sovereign Arab state – located in Western Asia and occupying the small Qatar Peninsula on the northeasterly coast of the Arabian Peninsula. Its sole land border is with Saudi Arabia to the south, with the rest of its territory surrounded by the Arabian Gulf.
Salary and Benefits: Salary is highly competitive and will be commensurate with qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. Qualifications and Experience
● Master’s degree/post-graduate certification in Speech & Language Pathology or related field preferred
● Certified and/or licensed as a Speech & Language Pathologist with expertise in ASD preferred.
● Minimum 3-5 years of relevant full-time work experience
● Experience working in a variety of instructional settings with special education populations in one-on-one settings in addition to small and large group instruction.
● Experience in needs assessment, creation of treatment plans, and delivery of therapeutic treatment
● Experience in documentation of services
● Above average verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate ideas clearly and concisely; proficiency in Arabic is plus
● Excellent presentation skills
● Proficiency in MS Office applications and other clinical documentation platforms
● Thorough understanding of evidence-based supports and interventions.
● Demonstrated ability to use data to inform interventions.
● Demonstrated ability to work effectively with adult learners.
● Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
● Standard workplace technology skills.
The Speech & Language Pathologist will:
● Plan and implement appropriate testing to identify students with communication disorders, delays, or learning difficulties
● Provide written documentation and communicate assessment results, recommendations, therapy goals & activities to parents and staff
● Maintain appropriate and ongoing records / documentation of activities
● Assist with planning and development of therapy & instruction for students identified with language / communication difficulties
● Provide direct therapy / instruction individually, in small groups, or within a classroom setting
● Help teachers learn and apply strategies for use directly in classrooms. Demonstrate and teach therapy techniques, strategies, and objectives
● Attend student study team meetings. Document IEP objectives & track progress of all students
● Advise parents on strategies for use in a home setting. Demonstrate and teach parents therapy techniques and objectives
● Provide in-service education and training for staff and / or community as requested or as needs are identified
● Provide end-of-year documentation of activities completed throughout the year
● Apply the Response to Intervention (RTI) model
● Use qualitative and quantitative evaluations and methodologies to analyze and diagnose the pathology of speech, language, and swallowing issues
● Establish positive and cooperative relationships with staff, students, parents and community resources
● Continue professional development activities pertinent to your job, with a minimum of 12 continuing educational / professional development hours annually. Obtain or maintain membership in relevant professional association(s)
● Support teachers and assistants in the implementation of evidence-based practices to improve the SLP related skills of the students who are in need.
● Use formative and summative assessment data to define student learning and determine the need for additional support.
● Support students as they transition into new educational placements.
● Maintain complete and accurate student data.
● Maintain appropriate confidentiality of student information.
● Set an example of intellectual curiosity, critical thinking, self-motivation, and self-discipline.
● Model competence, honesty, personal responsibility, and respect for others.
● Undertake other reasonable tasks as assigned.
