The post holder will join an established team of Speech and Language Therapists who are jointly responsible for providing a therapy service to the schools. The team works in partnership with teachers and support staff in our child centred classrooms.

We require a Speech and Language Therapist to work within our pathway 3 learning group which is specifically for children and young people with Pathological Demand Avoidance. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to an established service for this group that has proven to be successful in keeping children with high-levels of anxiety and social communication needs in a learning environment. The challenge for this role comes in being able to adapt evidence-based strategies to a “backdoor therapeutic” approach so that the young people meet their targets through an emphasis on communicating about their own motivations and interests. This role will suit a candidate who is a confident child centred practitioner but is seeking an additional challenge or bow to their arrow.

We can offer you:

• Local Government Pension Scheme

• Line management and clinical supervision

• Opportunities for continuing professional development

• A Supportive team

• A flexible approach to Therapy provision

Please see the attached job description and person specification for full details on the role and the skills, experience and knowledge we are looking for.
