Smart Teachers is recruiting for a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join an ‘Outstanding’ special school in Ealing for students aged between 5 and 18 years who have a range of needs including emotional, social, and behavioural and communication difficulties. The successful Speech and Language Therapist will join the school in January 2017 on a part time long term basis until the end of the academic year. There is also the potential for this part time role to become a permanent position.

  • To assess and identify where the students difficulties lie, when it comes to speech and language
  • To review and revise the speech and language programme in order to help students academically achieve and progress
  • Starting in January 2017 on a full time, part time contract (for 2 – 3 days per week)
  • Long term contract with the potential to go permanent
  • Competitive salary in line with Main Pay Scale (will vary depending on experience)

In order to be considered for this role, the Speech and Language Therapist will need to meet the following criteria:

  • Must hold a relevant degree proven by HCPC (Health & Care Professions Council) and cover both theory and clinical practice
  • Have proven UK classroom based experience (one term minimum)
  • Have experience supporting students with special needs, particularly with Social Emotional Mental Health
  • Eligible to work in the UK (must have valid visa)
  • Recent classroom-based references and valid DBS/police checks
