Job overview

Due to expansion, the new Headteacher and Leadership Team at Unsted Park School are looking for enthusiastic, caring and passionate people to become an integral part of our therapy team. The successful candidate will join our multi-disciplinary team, which may suit someone experienced in a special needs environment or a newly qualified practitioner, who will have the opportunity to work closely with our therapists and other professionals, providing support to students.  


Unsted Park School is set in a beautiful semi-rural location with 44 acres of surrounding grounds. We are a SEN school specialising in the education and care of children and young people between the age of 7 to 19 years who are diagnosed as being on the autistic spectrum with associated learning difficulties. We are committed to providing the highest level of education and care in a safe, positive environment that enables each individual to achieve their maximum potential. A school lift/taxi service is available from Guildford Train station if required.

The focus of the whole school approach is in three core areas: education, independence and inclusion. Based on these core areas we provide individual, person-centred programmes which recognise individual abilities and strengths and help students to reach their full potential.


Main duties and expectations:

  • You will receive and respond promptly to referrals undertaking initial assessments to establish the scope, level and nature of the individual young person's therapeutic and mental health needs.
  • You will lead and facilitate group and/or individual therapy sessions, short and long-term, ensuring interventions continue to meet the needs of the YP and are consistent with the provisions detailed in their therapy plan.
  • You will manage, monitor and review an assigned caseload, ensuring delivery within the agreed timescales.
  • Ability to work independently and with previous experience of working with young people with ASD, preferably within an education setting, is essential.

Through our services at Unsted Park School and Sixth Form, we provide specialist education and care to young people aged 7 to 19 years with high functioning autism, Asperger Syndrome and associated disorders.
